Following the Omens

Following the Omens

Recently, I've been reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and it's beginning to put things in perspective for me. We are all on this journey we call life, trying to find our paths and our purposes. I had a conversation with someone very dear to me this afternoon, laying under the sun we video chatted. I told him that I was afraid of the changes that are coming and he told me that I'm only anxious and worried because I care and that I should look at all of the blessings that I have around me. I know what I want to do, vaguely, and I have the means to get there. He told me to relax, have fun, and calm down.

There's something magical about these kinds of conversations. They come when we least expect them and they give us exactly what we need to continue on our paths. In The Alchemist, Santiago meets the king who tells him to follow the omens and to pursue his Personal Legend. A Personal Legend is the reason we are put on this Earth. The king explains that we all know what our Personal Legend is from the time that we are very young but a mysterious force convinces us that this legend is impossible to realize. "It's a force that appears to be negative, but actually shows you how to realize your Personal Legend. It prepares your spirit and your will, because there is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it's because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It's your mission on earth...And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."

Just like Santiago, I am following the omens to realize my Personal Legend.

What's most important is to be open and trust yourself, something that I work on daily. Just like in the story my mother also tells me, "you have everything you need right inside yourself." Now, I am telling you. You have everything you need right inside yourself. So why not pursue your Personal Legend?
